Guided Fly Fishing Trips: Wind River Canyon

Upper & Lower Canyon Trips Available

We fish the Wind River Canyon in two sections, the Upper Wind River Canyon and the Lower Wind River Canyon. It is an amazing tailwater fishery that is without a doubt some of the best wild brown trout fishing in the United States. There is some whitewater to deal with on this float, but that only adds to the excitement!

Large brown trout hold in several pools and runs willing to eat large flies in an excruciatingly slow manner testing your patience for the set, and then in a flash they are on the run testing your angling abilities to see if you can land-em!

In addition to the amazing trout that inhabit Wind River Canyon, there are some carp that might be mistaken for small submarines! These wary and extremely powerful fish are available for those anglers who want to test their skills and the durability of their equipment. Carp are tough quarry, get one on and you will see why!

Full Day, Upper or Lower Wind River Canyon: $595.00 (Lunch Included)
Half Day, Upper or Lower Wind River Canyon: $495.00

Additional Information
Guided trip price includes:

• One boat and 1-2 clients.
• Transportation from our shop to and from the river, lunch and soft drinks (full day trips only), fly rod and reel (if needed), and safety equipment on the river (pfd).
• Full day trips last approximately 8 hours and a half-day is approximately 4 hours.

Price does not include:

• Wind River Indian Reservation fishing permit/license & recreation stamp (required). We do sell the required permit and stamp as a concessionaire of the Shoshone and Arapaho Tribes.
• Wyoming Fishing License & conservation stamp (required).
• Terminal tackle (flies, leaders, tippet, etc…)
• Optional guide gratuities

Special dietary requirements may be accommodated with at least 24-hour notice prior to trip departure date.

Recommended gear:

• 6 weight rod (5 wt. will suffice)
• Reel with floating line and drag system (weighted lines acceptable, but not necessary)
• Terminal tackle (flies, leaders, tippet, etc.) is available in our fly shop and our guides will be happy to assist you with selecting the appropriate items the morning of your trip
• Raincoat
• Polarized sunglasses (primarily for eye protection)
• Sunscreen
• Fishin’ Hat

Fishing Deposit Cancellation Policy
A deposit of 50% is required when making reservations for fishing trips. Cancellation must be made 30 days prior to date of scheduled trip to receive a refund of deposit. Less than 30 day notice results in forfeiture of deposit. If cancellation occurs with less than 24 hours notice the full guided trip price will be charged.
